Patrick R. Burns
Lawyer, Arbitrator, MediatorPatrick Burns focuses his practice on ADR and civil litigation. He is licensed to practice law in Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota. Minnesota Lawyer named him one of 20 “Up and Coming Attorneys” in the state in 2007, and in 2010 he was named a “Rising Star” in ADR and litigation by Minnesota Law & Politics. Patrick is an active mediator and arbitrator who serves on the American Arbitration Association’s (AAA) national panels of mediators and arbitrators. Patrick also volunteers as a mediator through the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights and Hennepin County District Court. He was formerly vice president of the Minneapolis office of the American Arbitration Association and served on active duty as an officer and trial lawyer in the Army JAG Corps. Patrick earned B.S., M.P.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of South Dakota, where he is an adjunct professor of law. Patrick is the chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association's 375 member Alternative Dispute Resolution Section. He is also pursuing an LL.M in Dispute Resolution from the Pepperdine School of Law Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution in Malibu, California.
Leo G. Stern
Lawyer, Arbitrator, Mediator
Leo Stern is no newcomer to the ADR field. Early in his career as a business, commercial litigator, he recognized in a significant number of suits the shortcomings of litigation as a time-consuming, expensive, one-size-fits-all approach to conflict resolution. Leo concluded that the default of suing as the mechanism for resolving differences — even apart from its shortcomings — does not lend itself to the far more difficult task of settling, mending differences and moving on. With that in mind, over 35 years ago, Leo started his ADR work. Since then, he has handled well over 500 cases as a neutral. Leo has taught ADR as an adjunct and visiting professor, is a frequent lecturer on the subject, serves on several ADR-administered panels and has been recognized by his peers as one of the top practitioners of ADR in Minnesota, as well as being listed as one in The Best Lawyers in America.

David A. Allgeyer

David Allgeyer has over 30 years of experience litigating, arbitrating and mediating intellectual property, corporate and commercial disputes in federal and states courts and arbitration hearings throughout the United States. His intellectual property practice includes patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret cases in the medical products, manufacturing, semiconductor, heavy equipment, credit card manufacturing and other industries. His commercial practice includes contract, warranty and business torts matters involving computer systems, agricultural and heavy equipment, ethanol plants, medical products, textile plants, banking and other areas. Joseph L. Daly
Professor of ADR Law, Lawyer, Arbitrator, Mediator
Joseph Daly is the "Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi Distinguished Professor of Litigation Skills and International Dispute Resolution" and director of the Mediation Clinic at Hamline University School of Law. He is a highly respected practitioner and teacher and a sought-after mediator and arbitrator in commercial, labor, employment, personal injury and insurance disputes. He has arbitrated and mediated more than 800 cases. Professor Daly has written books and many articles on ADR. He is an arbitrator for the United States Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (Washington, DC), a commercial arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, and an arbitrator for State of Minnesota Bureau of Mediation Services and a number of other states including Oregon, Wisconsin, Hawaii and the Virgin Islands. He is listed in Super Lawyers and Leading American Attorneys as one of the best ADR practitioners.
Linda Mealey-Lohmann
Mediator, Arbitrator, Lawyer, Adjunct Professor of ADRAttorney Linda Mealey-Lohmann practices exclusively in the area of ADR, handling primarily commercial, business, workplace, and employment law disputes. She has mediated over 300 disputes, including employment law matters, commercial matters, debt collection, landlord/tenant, breach of contract, construction, home improvement, and other business disputes. Prior to her work as an ADR Neutral, Linda was a litigator who counseled and represented clients in litigation, arbitration, and mediation (beginning in 1991). She recently co-authored The Minnesota ADR Handbook: A Guide to Mediation, Arbitration, and Other Processes for Advocates and Neutrals (MN CLE 2011). She is an Adjunct Professor at William Mitchell College of Law, teaching ADR (negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and other Rule 114 ADR processes). Linda is a frequent presenter for Minnesota CLE and has written and presented extensively on ADR, mediation, and employment law topics since 1995.
